The Detroit Lions selected former Ohio State Buckeyes cornerback Jeff Okudah with the third overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft yesterday, and the newest member of the Motor City can’t wait to get started with his new teammates.
And as Lions fans will hopefully soon find out, any player that gets a personal shoutout from NBA superstar LeBron James is going to be the real deal.
James gave a shoutout to Okudah before the Draft began:
Naturally, Okudah was appreciative of the encouraging words from James:
“We’re signed to the same agency, so through that we spoke before,” he said. “Seeing what he said is kind of a testimony of the hard work that’s been put in,” he said. “It was a pretty cool shout-out.”
Both James and Okudah are represented by Klutch Sports. We’re sure excited to see how Okudah will help lead the Lions into the future!
