This was shaping up to be the best play of the NFL season so far in 2020, until it wasn’t.
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones absolutely befuddled the Philadelphia Eagles defense on a read option to start the second half, ran around the right tackle and had a home free path to the end zone.
Only problem is that he just couldn’t finish:

It’s almost Halloween – there may have been some unfriendly ghosts at Lincoln Financial Field. Thankfully, it didn’t totally end in disaster, as the Giants scored three plays later.
Las Vegas Raiders send several players home for isolation
The NFL has announced the rescheduling of two of their Week 7 matchups thanks to complications from COVID-19.
Following the positive testing of right tackle Trent Brown, the entire offensive line for the Las Vegas Raiders has been sent home for isolation after contact tracing connected them to Brown.
The NFL announced they’re now investigating Brown, who hadn’t been consistently wearing the mandated tracking device.
“I guess they were around Trent,” Gruden said in a video call with reporters. “I can’t get into things any more than that. But hopefully we’ll get some players back tomorrow, or for Sunday.”
Head coach Jon Gruden was among the coaches that were fined by the NFL earlier this season due to failure to adhere to the safety guidelines.
“How happy am I? I’m not happy,” Gruden said. “I’m concerned. I’m really more concerned about Trent [and] his health than anything. This is COVID and I am concerned about anybody that has it or is near it.”
