According to reports, former New York Mets pitcher Steven Matz is signing a multi-year deal with the St. Louis Cardinals.
One person who is not happy about that is Mets owner Steven Cohen, who was under the impression that Matz’s agent was going to give the Mets a final chance before signing with another team.
On Wednesday, Cohen took to Twitter to call out Matz’s agent.
“I’m not happy this morning,” Cohen tweeted. “I’ve never seen such unprofessional behavior exhibited by a player’s agent.I guess words and promises don’t matter.
Mets are upset about the Matz situation and his last minute call to Cardinals. They had the impression he was going to come back to them for a final chance. Sources say Mets would have gone to that level ($44M, 4 years) https://t.co/IQb31i6Tvu
