The Detroit Lions will have a new starting quarterback in 2021 and his name is Jared Goff.
Goff, of course, was acquired by the Lions via a trade that sent Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams.
The question is, is Goff just a bridge until the Lions can find their next franchise quarterback, or are the Lions planning on him being around for a long time. Some believe Goff has what it takes to move the Lions franchise into the future while others think he is washed up.
On Monday, NFL analyst Kyle Brandt joined the Good Morning Football crew and he is clearly not too fond of Goff. In fact, he referred to Goff as ” human hummus.” While doing so, Brandt also took a shot at Lions head coach Dan Campbell by comparing him to a “Metallica roadie.”
I dont’ think Jared Goff is anybody’s savior,” Brandt said. “By all accounts, he is…human hummus. He’s very calm, he is not going to come in and kick the door down.
I do think that Jared Goff’s storyline is already written,” Brandt continued. “People like me are calling him ‘hummus’ and no one wants you. Jared Goff was jettisoned from L.A. by an offensive guru who didn’t want him anymore. Now his head coach is like a Metallica roadie. No one thinks it’s going to work out. If Jared Goff has the red ass in him if he gets motivated if he gets mad, if he’s not hummus, he should do it now. I don’t think he’s the savior, but if Jared Goff has that dog in him then he’s hearing this and he’s mad this year.”
Brandt had better watch his kneecaps!
