NFL analyst has perfect piece of advice for Detroit Lions RB D’Andre Swift

During the 13 games he played in his rookie season, Detroit Lions RB D’Andre Swift rushed for 521 yards and 8 TDs while catching 46 passes for 357 yards and 2 TDs. Swift had flashes of brilliance and other moments where he definitely looked like a rookie, as I wrote would happen before the season started.

But now it is time for Swift to take a step forward and NFL analyst Maurice Jones-Drew has the perfect word for the Lions running back if that is going to happen.

That word is “consistency.”

During a recent article published on NFL.com, Jones-Drew ranked all of the NFL running backs and Swift came in at No. 22 on the list.

Here is what Jones-Drew had to say about Swift.

Swift’s rookie season was a mixed bag with a few big performances but more subpar outings. The Lions can’t afford for their rushing attack to have a lull that stretches on for a while. Swift, a talented and versatile weapon out of the backfield, must find consistency and make a major Year 2 leap in Anthony Lynn’s offense.

First and foremost, Swift will have to stay healthy to really make a jump in Year 2 and if he does stay healthy, I truly believe that he will make a big jump in the running back rankings.
