As the sports world continues to deal with the ramifications of the spread of COVID-19, the National Football League is continuing to prepare safety protocols in an effort to play the 2020 season.
While there have been doubts regarding whether or not a season will ultimately be able to be played, one NFL source disclosed to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter that he’s confident that the season will be able to get underway.
Speaking on Schefter’s podcast, the source relayed his belief in no uncertain terms that the safety protocols being put into place will ensure the season:
‘The NFL is going to play, Adam. I’m very certain of it. Have faith in the league. The process and testing and protocols are exceptional. You should see and hear how much is being done. Daily saliva tests and PCR [Polymerase chain reaction] every three days. Sanitizing everything, including the balls. You can’t believe all that’s being done and prepared.’
That’s certainly good news for those of us pining to see the return of football in the fall!
