On Sunday, the NHLPA and NHL announced an agreement to play a 2020-21 regular-season schedule of 56 games, beginning on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
As part of the agreement, there will be new divisions for the upcoming season and as you can see below, the Detroit Red Wings will be in an 8-team Central Division.

According to reports, the current plan is to play all games in home arenas with a Stanley Cup champion being crowned in mid-July, which would allow for a regular start to the 2021-22 season.
The goal is to have the Stanley Cup awarded by mid-July to allow for normal calendar for 2021-22 season, i.e. regular season beginning in October.
