The Detroit Red Wings were scheduled to return to action following the NHL's pausing of the schedule thanks to increasing positive COVID-19 cases on December 27 against the New York Rangers. However, that has now been put off.
The NHL has announced that no games will be played prior to December 28, meaning the earliest the Red Wings can return to action is December 29 against the New York Islanders.
