Many said that the 2020 NHL Draft would officially begin when the Detroit Red Wings were on the clock with the No. 4 overall pick. The reason why many felt that way is because the top 3 picks seemed pretty obvious and the No. 4 pick was a wild card, especially with Steve Yzerman calling the shots for the Red Wings.
Well, as we know now, the Red Wings selected Lucas Raymond of Sweden with the No. 4 pick and now we wait to see if he can develop into a great player.
After getting selected, Raymond spoke to the media and he said he was excited when his name was called.
“I had kind of an idea, but I didn't try to get my hopes up,” Raymond said. “When they called my name, I was very excited.”
Lucas Raymond talked about his excitement in joining the Red Wings.
