Each year, one NFL team is selected to be featured on the HBO reality show, “Hard Knocks” and both the Detroit Lions and the Oakland Raiders, because of the rules established for selecting teams, are eligible to appear during this upcoming training camp.

A while back, Lions head coach Matt Patricia was asked about how he felt about potentially being chosen to appear on “Hard Knocks” and instead of shooting it down, he decided to toss Jon Gruden and the Oakland Raiders under the bus.
“I think Jon Gruden is an excellent choice for that show,” Patricia said. “I think the Oakland Raiders and everything they’ve got going on right now would be fantastic viewing for everybody to watch.”
Well, on Thursday, Gruden got his revenge on Patricia when he was asked about “Hard Knocks” at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
“Appreciate Matt Patricia, my friend, offering that up to me,” Gruden said. “That beard that Patricia has, he’s going to be a star. I mean he’s going to be one of the future television stars. I’d be surprised if Monday Night Football doesn’t put him upstairs in the future.”
Nation, would you like to see the Detroit Lions on HBO’s Hard Knocks?
