Mize, who is 23, was selected by the Tigers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft.
For those of you worried about the Tigers losing a year of control by bringing Mize up too soon, fear not. Since the season is now over seven days old, the Tigers (and any MLB team) can bring prospects up without it counting against service time.
In 21 games in Minor League Baseball in 2019, Mize was 8-3 with a 2.55 ERA while striking out 106 batters in 109.1 innings. Opposing batters only hit .203 off him on the season.
