The officials from yesterday’s Fiesta Bowl matchup between the Clemson Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes are catching some heat from Columbus.
Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence appeared to throw a complete pass that was subsequently fumbled by receiver Justyn Ross; safety recovered the ball and returned it for the would-be go ahead touchdown. The officials initially ruled the play to be a complete pass, a fumble and touchdown return for the Buckeyes.

A review then determined the pass was incomplete.
Needless to say, social media was ablaze with reaction afterwards.
Another bad call against #OhioState that was clearly a catch and fumble! I hate to think there’s a “fix” in but the SEC has hated OSU for a long time and they are the ones officiating the booth tonight. The officiating in the #NCAAFootball and #NFL has gotten so bad #FiestaBowl

Should Ohio state lose this game, the catch & fumble will be talked about for months on in, with out dought!

Ohio State needed to score in the red zone. that’s 12 points off the board. but the refs also need to be held accountable for those RIDICULOUS CALLS. the targeting call, awful, the overturned fumble, BLASPHEMY. i don’t even know what to think

Ohio State got robbed. That was a fumble recovery

I’m going to stick with it, Ohio state should have won, because that fumble should’ve been a touchdown.
