One college game Detroit Lions fans should watch on Saturday

If you are a fan of the Detroit Lions, you are quickly realizing that the 2021 season is going to be more about building a culture and developing young players than it is about winning a lot of football games.

Though some of you really do not think about the NFL Draft until the season is over, I am thinking about it at all times, specifically focusing on players I think the Lions will be in a position to select.

As it stands, the Lions currently have the No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and I believe they will strongly have to consider selecting a quarterback.

So, with that being said, the Lions’ next quarterback could be playing on Saturday and his name is Matt Corral.

Corral is the quarterback at Ole Miss and he and his teammates will take on No. 1 ranked Alabama on Saturday afternoon.

So far this season, Corral has completed 68.5% of his passes for 997 yards and nine touchdowns while not throwing a single interception. Corral developed well in 2020 under the watch of Lane Kiffin and you can bet he will be one of the top QBs off the board in the 2022 NFL Draft.

But, in addition to watching Corral against a solid Alabama defense, you will also have the opportunity to watch Bama QB Bryce Young, who could very well be the top-ranked signal-caller available in the 2023 NFL Draft. Young has been absolutely dominant in his first season as the Crimson Tide’s starting QB as he has completed 67.1% of his passes for 1,124 yards and 15 TDs to go along with just one interception.

Lions fans, in my opinion, if you only have time to watch one college game this weekend, Ole Miss vs. Alabama is easily the one you should tune in for.
