One trade the Detroit Lions MUST make immediately

There is no doubt about it, the 2019 Detroit Lions have more depth than they did just one season ago.

That being said, the Lions still have some weaknesses and the sooner they address them, the better.

One of those weaknesses, in my opinion, is depth at the wide receiver position. Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones Jr., and Danny Amendola sound like a formidable trio but after that, there is much to be desired in the wide receiver room.

So, what can Lions’ general manager Bob Quinn do to improve the wide receiver room? The free-agent pool has run thin so if the Lions are going to add a receiver who can actually be an upgrade, a trade is likely their only option.

But who can the Lions trade with?

You guessed it, the New England Patriots!

On Thursday, news broke that Patriots’ safety Patrick Chung was indicted for cocaine possession in New Hampshire and Bill Belichick could be on the lookout for a replacement.

That replacement could be Lions’ safety Tavon Wilson.

The Lions have some nice depth at safety at the moment, which could make Wilson expendable if the return is right.

The Patriots just so happen to have a log jam at the wide receiver position and they may be willing to give up a guy like Phillip Dorsett or Braxton Berrios.

In my opinion, either Dorsett or Berrios would immediately step in and become the Lions No. 4 receiver and provide the speedster Detroit is looking for.

Make it happen, Bob!
