This is probably not the way the Orlando Magic planned things.

Patricio Garino’s agent Carlos Prunes tweeted a picture of his client signing a contract with the Magic for the remainder of the season and next season. However, in the picture’s background, there was a dry-erase board that lists possible Magic trade possibilities and free-agent targets.

On the list of targets are current Pistons players Stanley Johnson, Jon Leuer, Tobias Harris, and Marcus Morris.

Pistons coach/president Stan Van Gundy isn’t reading too much into the picture.

“I don’t know that it has any relevance,” Van Gundy said. “There’s no big secret there. He’s got the names of good hybrid forwards on the board. Well, we all like those guys. It not like he’s got a secret list. Like, ‘Oh, you like that guy. I would have never thought of that.’ There were no surprises there, it was simply a working board.

“I don’t know if there’s any NBA general manager, president or anything who can take a look at that list and do anything with it or gain any advantage by it.”

It will certainly be an interesting offseason for the Pistons, who have stumbled through a disappointing campaign and are on the verge of missing the playoffs.
