Pat Riley ready to welcome back LeBron James to South Beach

“Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six….

Of course, everyone remembers LeBron James‘ prediction of how many titles he would win with the Miami Heat during their welcome party for him and Chris Bosh upon their arrival in South Beach in the summer of 2010. While that prediction did yield four straight NBA Finals appearances, they only managed two championships.

James would then return to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 before eventually moving on to his current team, the Los Angeles Lakers. And now, one key Miami Heat executive wants him back in Florida.

Heat president Pat Riley, who had a huge hand in recruiting James to Miami over a decade ago, wasn't exactly subtle when asked if he'd welcome James back to South Beach during an appearance on “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz”:

“I would leave the key under the doormat if he would call and let me know he’s coming,” Riley said. “I would do that, but I doubt very much if that key…that key’s rusted now.”

“I wish him nothing but the best,” he said of James. “And if he ever wanted to come back, then I’ll put a new shiny key under that mat.”
