Matt Patricia believes Damon Harrison will be ready despite no practice

If we’re talking about practice, Damon “Snacks” Harrison hasn’t gone the Allen Iverson route.

He has been present for every single Detroit Lions practice since the beginning of training camp, but has yet to participate in any on-field session as he continues to deal with an undisclosed injury.

However, head coach Matt Patricia doesn’t seem overly concerned about the veteran’s availability as the regular season draws closer.

“With him, we’re trying to do the best we can for him to get ready to go,” Patricia said before Sunday’s practice. “For a guy that has played a lot of football for a number of years and has handle these situations in training camp the same for a while and just working with him to make sure he is ready to go when we get to that point.”

“Those guys are doing stuff. They’re out there, they’re working, it’s just who they are working with at that point. And I would say our training staff does a great job of being very proactive in some of that stuff out on the field to get those guys ready to go.”

The Lions have three remaining games on their pre-season schedule before opening the regular season against the Arizona Cardinals on September 8.
