Unless you have been in a bubble today, you have already heard that Antonio Brown was released by the Oakland Raiders and then hours later, signed by the New England Patriots.
If you clicked on this piece, you are likely wondering to yourself, how in the world could moves which involve two AFC teams possibly end up benefiting the Detroit Lions?

Well, let me explain.
With the signing, the Patriots now have Brown, Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Demaryius Thomas, Philip Dorsett, and Matthew Slater as options at the wide receiver position.
Though Brown is not expected to play immediately, you can bet the Patriots are expecting to get the most out of the $15 million they are paying him.

That being said, Dorsett is a receiver who I have previously mentioned as a possible option for the Detroit Lions and with Brown in the picture, he may just be available.
The Lions currently have Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones Jr., and Danny Amendola as their top three receivers but after that, there is much to be desired.
It would be wise for the Lions to add a fourth receiver as soon as possible and I would highly recommend Bob Quinn pick up the phone and call the Patriots immediately.
