Round 1 – Taco Charlton (DE) Michigan
Let me start off by saying that I would be extremely disappointed if the Lions do not select a defensive player with their first couple picks in the draft. When looking at advanced metrics, the Lions were one of the worst defensive teams in the NFL and if they do not improve, 2017 could be a very long season.
One position the Lions must improve is DE. Ziggy Ansah was disappointing in 2016, but I would expect for him to rebound next season. Devin Taylor has NFL talent, but I would prefer he come off the bench. One player available in the draft is Taco Charlton from the University of Michigan. Charlton has the explosiveness off the line to get to the quarterback and would be the perfect complement to Ansah.
