After firing Brayden Coombs in December for going rogue and calling a fake punt against the Tennessee Titans, the Detroit Lions are now in the market to hire a new special teams coordinator.
According to reports, the Lions put in a request to the Philadelphia Eagles to interview their special teams coordinator, Dave Fipp but were denied.
Another name on the Lions coaching front: Have heard the team put in a slip for Eagles ST coordinator Dave Fipp, but Eagles aren't willing to let him go right now

Though the Eagles fired head coach Doug Pederson, the rest of their assistant coaches, including Fipp is still under contract and will remain with the team unless their new head coach (not yet hired) decides to go in a different direction. If that happens, the Lions would be able to conduct the interview. The question is, how long do they want to wait around?
