The Detroit Pistons have added backcourt depth today with the signing of guard Langston Galloway to a three-year, $21 million deal.

He declined a player-option next year with the Sacramento Kings, making him a free-agent.
Originally from Louisiana, Galloway played college basketball at St. Joseph’s University. During his freshman year, Galloway earned Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team and Philadelphia Big 5 Rookie of the Year honors. During his senior season, he was named to the All-Atlantic 10 first team, All-Big 5 first team, NABC All-District 4 first team, and the Atlantic 10 All-Championship team. He left St. Joseph’s as the school’s second all-time leading scorer.
Despite being undrafted, he signed with the New York Knicks, and was named to the NBA’s All-Rookie second team. He averaged 11.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 32.4 minutes per game in 45 games, all career highs.
He would sign with the New Orleans Pelicans during the 2016 offseason, and was later traded to the Sacramento Kings in February of 2017 as part of the deal that saw DeMarcus Cousins head to the Pelicans.
