Pistons trade with Houston could be voided

On Thursday, the Detroit Pistons acquired Donatas Motiejunas and Marcus Thornton from the Houston Rockets in exchange for Joel Anthony (who was then traded to Philadelphia) and a top-eight protected first round draft pick. Now there is a chance the entire trade could be voided.

The Pistons have asked for an extension to they can take a further look into the health of Motiejunas, specifically his back issues.

In addition to their own team doctors, the Pistons have also consulted an outside back specialist to get a better idea of what they are dealing with.

Until all three players involved in the trade have been cleared, none of them will be cleared to play.

If the NBA grants the Pistons with an extension, they will have until Monday night to decide. If not, Stan Van Gundy said the team will have to make a decision sooner.
