Miguel Cabrera hit a walk off home run in his major league debut for the Florida Marlins (now Miami Marlins), and went on to win a World Series with that team all in his rookie year. “Miggy” would stay there until 2007 when he was traded to the Detroit Tigers, thus beginning the legend we all know. Cabrera has won three batting titles, two MVPs and a Triple Crown among a plethora of other awards. Cabrera Did something that hadn’t been accomplished since 1967 in winning the Triple Crown and it showed that he was not just another superstar, he is a once in a generation type of player. He not only has the ability to hit from anywhere in the strike-zone but also hit with power, which is something that is rare to come by in a baseball player.

Cabrera’s Future:

As we all know Cabrera is a Tiger for life with his lucrative contract extension he signed last season. He will be at first base for years to come. He is the solidified leader of the Tigers and more than likely will be for the rest of his career. He is the face of the franchise, the fan favorite, the best hitter in the game. It’s hard to imagine the Tigers without Miggy on the team, he just has to stay healthy. Cabrera has seen a slight drop in production due to various injuries the last few years. As long as he does stay healthy Cabrera will have well over 3,000 hits, 2,000 RBI’s and may possibly even challenge Hank Aaron’s, I mean Barry Bond’s, home run record. No matter what Miguel will break records and be inducted into the Hall of Fame and go down quite possibly one of if not the best Detroit Tiger ever.
