The Detroit Red Wings are continuing their road trip out west with the second half of a back-to-back this time taking on the Arizona Coyotes tonight at 9:00 PM. This is the Wings’ second and final matchup against Arizona this season. The first game saw the Red Wings come out on top 4-3 in a shootout at Detroit. In the last two seasons combined the Red Wings are 1-2-0 against Arizona and they are being outscored by the Coyotes 14-7.

Tonight’s Red Wings player to watch: Tyler Bertuzzi

Bertuzzi has been a key piece to the Red Wings this season as they are 8-2-2 in games Bertuzzi plays in this season while they are 10-14-5 in games, he has not played in. He has appeared in a career total of 288 games in his seven-year Detroit career. Last season Bertuzzi appeared in 68 games for the Wings, scoring 30 goals and 32 assists for 62 points which were the second most goals and points on the team.

Bertuzzi has not affected the stat sheet much since his return not scoring any goals or having any assists, but he has made his presence known in other aspects of the game. This season in 12 games he has scored one goal and has four assists for five points.

Tyler Bertuzzi

This season he has shifted around the lineup when he plays, spending a lot of time on the first line alongside Lucas Raymond and Dylan Larkin. Now, he has slid down to the third line playing with Pius Suter and David Perron.

Bertuzzi plays on the first power-play unit alongside Larkin, Raymond, Dominik Kubalik, and Moritz Seider.

On the season, Bertuzzi has one power-play point coming on an assist.

Bertuzzi career Against Arizona could be what makes a difference in the Red Wings’ Upcoming Game

In his career against the Coyotes, Bertuzzi has played in six games scoring one goal and four assists for five points.

In the first matchup earlier in the year Bertuzzi tallied two assists in the Wings’ win.

The Red Wings will need Bertuzzi to get his offense going for them to pull out a much-needed win over a Coyotes team that has not played very well this season up to this point.
