This past Sunday, the Detroit Lions did exactly what I thought they would do, as they used a last-second field goal to beat the Arizona Cardinals by 3.

With the win, the Lions kept hope alive by avoiding a 0-3 start to the season. But, unless they can put together a ton of wins over the next couple of months, which is extremely doable, it really won’t matter much.

That being said, let’s take a look at how I believe the Lions will fare in their next 3 games.

Week 4 – vs. New Orleans

Heading into the 2020 season, I truly believed that the Saints would be a Super Bowl contender. Because of that, I originally picked the Saints to win this game, despite it being played at Ford Field. But the Saints are 1-2 and Drew Brees (as I should have seen coming) has looked like a shell of his former self. Both teams need this W and it will be a battle until the final seconds…again.

Week 5 – BYE

2-2 heading into the Bye Week. We will take it.

Week 6 – at Jacksonville

This is a game the Lions, who will be coming off of a Bye Week, absolutely MUST win if they want to contend for a playoff spot. The Lions are not a great team, but the Jaguars are absolutely awful and I pray this one goes the way I think it will. Lions move to 3-2

Week 7 – at Atlanta

This one is interesting, to say the least. If this game was being played this week, I would take the Lions in a heartbeat as the Falcons have to be questioning themselves after yet another blown lead in the fourth quarter this past Sunday. But something tells me the Falcons will right the ship a bit by Week 7 and they will pull out a close one to drop the Lions to 3-3 on the season.
