The Detroit Red Wings are just over 24 hours from kicking off their 95th season in the National Hockey League, and this campaign will be a unique one.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no fans in attendance at any game at Little Caesars Arena, and the team will be playing a shortened 56-game schedule.
GM Steve Yzerman was busy this offseason giving his squad a facelift, bringing aboard several new faces and saying goodbye to some notable veterans. Needless to say, this year’s edition of the team will look different than the team that finished by far with the lowest number of points in the NHL.
And ahead of tomorrow’s opener against the Carolina Hurricanes, we’ve got a good idea of what line combinations that head coach Jeff Blashill will be rolling out.
