Ravens HC John Harbaugh weighs in on Detroit Lions roster addition

One week ago, news broke that the Detroit Lions were signing free agent LB Chris Board and plenty of fans complained that GM Brad Holmes was making another minor signing when the team needs talent at the linebacker position.

Well, one person who is seemingly a big fan of Board is Baltimore Ravens head coach, John Harbaugh.

“He’s a heck of a football player,” Harbaugh said. “In terms of special teams, he’s going to be a stalwart. I think he’s also a very good LB. He’s a good space LB, good coverage LB. (Detroit) is getting a great guy & heck of football player.”

Nation, what do you think about the Lions signing Board?

PREVIOUS REPORT:

According to a report from Mike Garafolo, the Detroit Lions have agreed to terms with LB Chris Board.

Garafolo is reporting that it is a 1-year deal. The financials of the contract have not yet been released.

As noted by Garafolo, Board, who is 26, has been a special teams standout and situational player for the Baltimore Ravens and the Ravens reportedly tried to re-sign him.

Board is expected to compete for a starting spot on the Lions‘ defense.
