The Detroit Red Wings have high hopes for young German defenseman Moritz Seider, whom they selected in 2019 with the 6th overall Draft selection.
He’s already gotten his feet wet at the professional level, and is currently on loan overseas to get more playing experience.
However, he won’t be suiting up for his native Germany in the World Junior Championships.
The Red Wings have not released him to participate in the annual tournament, opting to keep him playing for Rögle BK in the Swedish Hockey League:
The 19 year old scored twice and added 20 assists in 49 games played with the Grand Rapids Griffins last season.
