The Detroit Red Wings take on the St. Louis Blues Wednesday night at home, looking to end a four-game losing streak. The team received good news today as co-leading scorer Thomas Vanek is expected to return to the lineup after missing Sunday’s game in Minnesota due to an ankle injury.
Blashill said he expects Vanek to play tonight but won't know for sure until after warmup. #RedWings

Vanek is currently tied for the team lead with 14 goals and is second in points (36) to Henrik Zetterberg (41).
Vanek’s name has been heavily tossed around trade talks as of late, as the Red Wings continue to dig themselves into a bigger hole. While Vanek knows he could be traded, he believes the Red Wings can still make a run for the playoffs.
Playoff hopes for the Red Wings are getting bleaker by the day. If they drop their fifth-straight game against the Blues, it will be near impossible for them to crawl back.
