Red Wings F Justin Abdelkader returns to lineup after being healthy scratch

The Detroit Red Wings return home tonight in their final tune-up before the Christmas break to host the new-look Arizona Coyotes, who recently acquired sniper Taylor Hall from the New Jersey Devils.

One player who will make his return to the lineup is Justin Abdelkader, who had been a healthy scratch.

He’ll replace grinder Adam Erne, who is listed as day to day by the team with an undisclosed injury. Of course, forward Anthony Mantha also won’t be available due to having been placed on IR after suffering a head injury during last night’s 4-1 loss in Toronto.

Forward Frans Nielsen will also return after having missed last night’s game with the flu.

The two teams will face off at Little Caesars Arena just after 7:00 PM EST.
