Red Wings G Jimmy Howard takes shelter in net during teddy bear toss

Incoming!

At least, that’s what Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard had to be thinking Friday night while he was appearing in a conditioning assignment with the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins.

It was the night of the Iowa Wild’s annual teddy bear toss, during which thousands of stuffed animals are thrown onto the ice to be donated to local charities and hospitals.

Howard is expected to be brought back up to the Red Wings once his conditioning assignment is complete.
