Detroit Red Wings G Jonathan Bernier stood on his head on Saturday night as he made a whopping 50 saves against the Dallas Stars.
Unfortunately, the Red Wings offense (and defense) was horrific as they lost the game 2-1 in overtime.
If you watched the game, you may have noticed that Bernier, who was shown quite a bit because of the number of shots on goal he faced, was wearing a different helmet.
The helmet which Bernier wore was actually designed by 5-year-old Drew from Kalkaska, Michigan. Drew was the winner of the BCBSM #MIKidsCan helmet design contest.
If I’m Jonathan Bernier, I’m wearing the same helmet moving forward because it seemed to work well!
Check it out. 🤩
