On Friday, there was breaking news that shocked the NHL world when the Tampa Bay Lightning waived C Tyler Johnson.
Since then, there has been speculation that it would be the Detroit Red Wings who would claim Johnson off waivers.
Well, according to reports, Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman has decided to pass on Johnson as he has gone unclaimed.

My humble opinion is that it would not have been a good move for Yzerman to bring Johnson into a rebuild.
