The Detroit Red Wings lost defenseman Brendan Smith and forward Tyler Bertuzzi to injury during their game against the Montreal Canadiens.
Smith sustained a knee-on-knee hit and had to be helped off the ice. Soon afterwards, Bertuzzi was hit in the corner and limped off the ice in obvious pain.
