Red Wings’ new arena to be named in 60 days

Olympia Entertainment president and CEO Tom Wilson announced on Wednesday, during a media walk-through, that the name for the Detroit Red Wings’ new state-of-the-art arena set to open in September 2017, will be announced within 60 days.

The walk-through also showcased what the facility will feature in terms of suites. The suites will be able to hold between 30 and 40 people and will feature a wall of televisions that will be programmable via tablets. The suites will be twice the size of the ones featured at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Joe Louis Arena is the last remaining arena that is not named after a corporate sponsor. This is expected to change. For more information about the arena’s progress, check out this Detroit News article.

Any guesses as to what the new arena will be called?
