Steve Ott is known for mixing things up a bit, and that’s one of the reasons why the Red Wings brought him here this past summer. Tuesday night against Tampa Bay, Ott delivered one of the biggest hits we’ve seen so far this young season. The hit on Lightning forward Cedric Paquette drew a crowd and ended with wannabe tough guy Brian Boyle fighting Ott.
On Wednesday, the league announced Ott wouldn’t face any supplemental discipline for the hit, and rightfully so. It was a clean hockey it, and Boyle is that much of a loser that he felt the need to drop the mitts. Keep your head up, kid!
