Red Wings projected to be just slightly better than last season

The Detroit Red Wings are in the midst of a rebuild. And though former captain Steve Yzerman has returned to the team as the new general manager and is already making his mark on the franchise from a management position, thereโ€™s still a ways to go before theyโ€™re ready to contend again.

According to SportsBetting.ag, the Red Wings projected point total for the 2019-10 season is currently set at 75.5. For those of you counting, thatโ€™s a mere 1.5 points more than last season, when Detroit finished 32-40-10 โ€“ fourth from last overall in the NHL.

As far as winning the Stanley Cup, their odds are currently 100/1. Only the Ottawa Senators have longer odds to win it all next season.

Rebuilds certainly take time, but Steve Yzerman has a proven track record as a general manager.
