Red Wings recall Jonathan Ericsson 24 hours after demotion

Well, that was fast.

The Detroit Red Wings sent defenseman Jonathan Ericsson back down to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins yesterday, but have done a complete 180 and brought him right back up to the big club.

They also assigned goaltender Calvin Pickard to the Griffins after the acquisition of Eric Comrie from the Arizona Coyotes.

So far in seven games played with the Red Wings, Ericsson has no points while averaging 17:19 of ice time.
