The Wings planned on calling up at least one player after the Griffins game tonight, as the Grand Rapids is now on a Christmas break, and doesn’t play again until December 26. It was unknown if they would only be bringing up one player or more, but with Henrik Zetterberg battling a lower body injury, they decided to go with two.
Ouellet is not expected to play for Detroit on Sunday as they host the Calgary Flames, but if Zetterberg is unable to play, Nosek will make his NHL debut.
For the season, Ouellet has two goals and 10 assists in 25 games with Grand Rapids. He does have a bit of NHL experience with the Wings, scoring two goals and an assist in 25 career games in Detroit.
As for Nosek, he has two goals and four assists in 25 games with the Griffins this year. In his first AHL season last year, he picked up 11 goals and 23 assists in 55 games with Grand Rapids.
