In a depth move, the Detroit Red Wings locked up one of their best penalty killers today. It was announced that forward, Luke Glendening had signed a four-year contract extension with the red Wings through the 2020-2021 season.
Playing mainly on the fourth line for Detroit last season, Glendening garnered plenty of crucial minutes on the ice. Often being matched up with the opposing team’s number one center and also being out on the penalty kill.
He won’t score you many goals, but one thing is for sure, Luke Glendening will give you 110% every time he touches the ice and a re-signing like this is a solid move by the front office. Keeping a reliable forward who is great at taking face-offs and will grind with the best of them.
