February 23rd will be a special night for Detroit Red Wings fans. Hall of Fame defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom will be honored with his own Hall of Fame night at Joe Louis Arena when the Red Wings host the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Lidstrom will participate in the ceremonial puck drop before the game, with current Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg and Blue Jackets captain Nick Foligno. There will also be numerous videos of Lidstrom shown throughout the game, with his induction to the Hockey Hall of Fame being one of them.
All fans at the Joe that night will receive a Lidstrom collectible print, and there will also be a “Congratulations Nick” card in the concourse for them to sign.
There will also be plenty of Lidstrom Hall of Fame items for sale. Lapel pins, autographed jerseys, and signed game pucks will be available.
Throughout the course of his career, all of which was spent in Detroit, Lidstrom compiled 264 goals and 878 assists. He also collected quite a bit of hardware, which included seven Norris Trophies and four Stanley Cups.
