Hi! My name is (what), my name is (who), my name is chika-chika Jameson Williams. The prince who was promised is inching closer to his debut in Honolulu Blue. There was a mixed reaction when the Detroit Lions traded up to no. 12 in the 2022 NFL Draft to pick the star wide receiver from Alabama. He had torn his ACL three months earlier while playing in the National Championship Game against Georgia. The Lions, defending their selection, preached value.
Williams would have likely been a top-five pick had he not gotten hurt and the Lions did have a need for the position. “Jamo” as he became known was now a Lion and there wasn't anything the fans could do about it. The only question was when he would be able to suit up for the team.
That time has finally come. Williams returned to practice Monday, and while there is currently no word on when he will be ready for game action, the Lions' fanbase is beaming with excitement. The team has won three straight for the first time since 2017 and Williams will provide a much-needed punch to a receiving core that lacks game-breaking speed. In case you forgot what that looked like, we grabbed you a highlight video showcasing exactly what Williams can do.

Hot damn, that was impressive. We can end the article right here because nothing we tell you will beat what your eyes just saw. However, if your eyes deceive you, then don't take our word for it, just read what some people who do the sport of football for a living have to say about no. 9.
Quotes about Jameson Williams
Nick Saban, Williams' coach at Alabama/greatest college football coach of all time:
“He’s got great speed, but man, I’ll tell you what, this guys got a lot of competitive character. He’s got a lot of dawg in him. He’ll play gunner on special teams, he’ll run down on a kickoff. He’s got great speed, and I think he’s a guy that can really take the top off. He can do more than that, plus he’s got some catch and run ability. But I really love Jameson. He added so much to our program, and when you got wide receivers on your team that have great competitive character, that’s really helpful to the development of the whole group, and I think he did a wonderful job in that regard, as well.”Nick Saban makes the case for Jameson Williams, how he compares to Devonta Smith – Steve Samra
Full stop. Saban literally just dropped a “he's got that dawg in him”. Nothing else needs to be said, but plenty more has.
Jim Nag, Senior Bowl Executive Director:
“Just came across one of favorite plays from this year’s draft cycle,” Nagy tweeted with an attached highlight from Alabama's 2021 season. “Checkout Alabama football wide receiver Jameson Williams (in slot) throwing up the hand when he gets even with defensive back, signaling (quarterback) Bryce Young to launch deep ball. That’s some old-school Randy Moss stuff by (Williams).NFL Draft 2022: Alabama WR Jameson Williams receives Randy Moss comparison from Senior Bowl director – Dean Straka
Randy Moss, dawg. He should have been a Lion anyway (shout out Terry Fair), and now the Lions have Moss reincarnated. Of course, Williams also has fans inside the Lions organization.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions wide receiver/cool name haver:
“He gets the ball in his hands,” Amon-Ra St. Brown said of Jameson Williams, “no one’s touching him.”
