According to a report from 247Sports, Michigan State running back Anthony Williams has decided to leave the Spartans and enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.
From 247Sports:
Michigan State running back Anthony Williams entered the transfer portal on Wednesday morning, 247Sports has learned.
The sophomore running back has carried the ball four times this season for five yards, earning touches against Indiana and Iowa. Williams played in 12 games for the Spartans a year ago, finishing third on the team with 118 yards and one touchdown.
Williams becomes the second MSU player to enter the portal this week as linebacker Marcel Lewis entered the portal on Monday.
From Detroit News:
Lewis, a redshirt freshman, later tweeted an explanation for his decision, thanking former Spartans coach Mark Dantonio for recruiting him.
“After long talks with my family and Coach Tucker we felt the best decision for me is to enter my name in the transfer portal,” he wrote. “This was a very tough decision for me to make but I felt this was the best decision for me and my family. I’m excited for my future and can’t wait to see where I will be headed so I can get to work!”
