On Sunday, reports surfaced that the Detroit Lions were signing future Hall of Fame RB Adrian Peterson to a 1-year contract.

According to Ian Rapoport, the 1-year, $1.05 million deal has a max value of $2.3 million.
Rapoport also notes that the Lions would not make this move unless Peterson was going to factor in right off the bat.
“There’s no way they would sign a veteran like this, and basically guarantee their salary for the season, unless they’re planning on using him right away.”
