Detroit Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock has his decision down to two teams, or so it sounds like. Multiple sources are reporting that the Buffalo Sabers have offered Babcock a contract worth around $50 million to coach the Sabres, leaving his decision between the Red Wings and the Sabres.
A source close to the situation tells me the Sabres' offer is "in the range of $50 million dollars"

Babcock is supposed to make his decision by tomorrow morning. It looks like the Sabres are trying to sell their team to Babcock very hard. Buffalo currently holds the #2 pick in this years NHL Amateur Draft, and it is very likely that they will take touted prospect Jack Eichel with the pick. Will that be enough to alter Babcock’s decision?
Red Wings color commentator Mickey Redmond thinks that it wouldn’t be worth it for Babs to go to Buffalo.

Redmond also believes that he will be not heading anywhere. Does he have info we don’t? Just a thought.

Babcock has said a few times now that money would not be a factor in his decision, so what will be very interesting is what Buffalo could really do to take him away from Detroit. His family is possibly the biggest factor in his decision, so that could be the one and only aspect that can sway his decision.
Babcock is not giving into any reports that have been released as of late. We will know in the morning, as tomorrow is decision day, however there is no Sports Center special planned.
Just spoke with Mike Babcock: “I hope to make a decision by morning, but I’m still very much undecided.''
