Report: Detroit Lions cut multiple jobs as teams enters bye week at 1-3

Things have not gone as planned so far this season for the Detroit Lions in 2020 as the team is off to a horrid 1-3 start.

Because of the start, coupled with the two previous years of losing under the current regime, many have been calling for the jobs of Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn.

As of now, it looks like Lions’ ownership is going to allow Quinntricia another chance to right the ship but according to reports, the Lions have cut multiple jobs on the business side of things.

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions have made the decision to lay off a portion of their business department.

From Detroit Free Press:

The exact number of job cuts is unknown, and the Lions declined to say what percent of their approximately 300-person non-football work force was impacted by the layoffs.

“Consistent with organizational policy, we will not be issuing comment on internal business matters,” the team said in a statement to the Free Press.

The cuts came during the team’s bye week, and less than seven days after the organization confirmed that fans will not be allowed to attend games at Ford Field until at least Nov. 15.

This does not come as a huge surprise as the Lions, along with many other teams in the league, have suffered financial losses with fans not being allowed to attend games.

We wish anyone from the Lions’ business department who was laid off the best of luck. We hope you land on your feet and everything works out for you.
