Sometimes, love, at first sight, is a very real thing, even in the NFL.

That seems to be the case with the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. According to a report from Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions do not plan on interviewing Patricia a second time.

In case you have not heard, Patricia will almost certainly become the Lions new head coach as soon as he is done coaching the Patriots defense in the Super Bowl. He originally interviewed with the Lions on Jan. 5, which also happens to be the last interview Detroit conducted in their search for their next head coach.

Since joining the Patriots coaching staff prior to the 2004 team, Patricia has been part of three Super Bowl teams and been considered by many as one of the best defensive football minds in the league.

Lions general manager Bob Quinn spent time with Patricia while he was in New England from 2009 through 2015.
