REPORT: Detroit Lions not interested Greedy Williams at the NFL Scouting Combine

If you have been browsing NFL mock drafts over the past couple of months, you have likely noticed that many of the same names have appeared over and over again as a potential Detroit Lions‘ first-round pick.

One of those names is Greedy Williams, a highly rated cornerback out of LSU.

Williams, according to almost every “draft expert” around, is one of the top CBs in the nation and he will almost certainly be selected in the first round.

Well, one team who reportedly is not interested in using their first round pick on Greedy is the Lions.

According to Jeff Risdon of USA Today's Lions Wire, who is in Indianapolis at the NFL Scouting Combine, the Lions may not be too high on Williams.

“I asked one Detroit Lions staffer about the common sight of LSU CB Greedy Williams as the team’s first-round pick in mock drafts. His answer was curtly dismissive, “Our cornerbacks need to tackle.” Ouch.”

The Lions definitely need to add at least one cornerback during the offseason and it is likely they will take one during the draft. Nation, if this report is true, do you agree with the Lions? Should they dismiss Greedy Williams?

Or, do you agree that this is purely a smokescreen?

I tend to believe the latter.
