According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Hockenson did not return to the game because he was being checked for a concussion.
From Detroit Free Press:
T.J. Hockenson was not available for the Detroit Lions’ final play in Sunday’s 31-24 loss to the Oakland Raiders because he was being checked for a concussion.
Lions coach Matt Patricia said after the game he wasn’t sure if Hockenson was officially diagnosed with a concussion, and Hockenson was not in the Lions locker room when reporters were after the game.
“I haven’t seen T.J. yet, not really sure what the injury was,” Patricia said. “I just know that he obviously came off with the trainers.”
If Hockenson does have a concussion, it will be the second brain injury he has suffered this season, with the first coming in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs after he attempted to hurdle a defender.
