When the Detroit Lions selected D’Andre Swift in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, many speculated that he would open up the season as starting running back.
But after dealing with an injury during training camp, Swift was eased into the lineup as the Lions went out and signed veteran running back, Adrian Peterson.
Swift has clearly been the most effective Lions’ running back in 2020 and according to reports, he is being rewarded.
According to a report from Tom Pelissero, Swift is expected to make his first career start on Sunday against the Washington Football Team.
#Lions rookie RB D’Andre Swift is expected to make his first NFL start against Washington, source said. Detroit uses a mix in the backfield, but sounds like Swift leads the way today.
